Pension fund hits N14.26trillion
• PFAs invest N9tr in FGN Securities
Investment of pension fund assets has continued to have positive impact as the Current Net Asset Value grows to N14.267 trillion as at June 30, 2022 from N14.193 trillion in May, 2022.
This shows that the fund grew by N74 billion or 0.52 per cent growth in one month.
The National Pension Commission (PenCom) made this known in its Pension Funds Industry Portfolio for the Period Ended 30 June 2022.
The report showed that the pension managers, Pension Fund Administrators (PFA) invested a major chunk of N9 trillion out of the total fund in Federal Government Securities, of which N8.31 trillion went to Federal Government Bonds; N475.63 billion invested in Treasury Bills; N13.82 billion in Agency Bonds (NMRC); N136.50 billion in Sukuk and N68.09 billion in Green Bonds.
However, the PFAs invested N160.96 billion in state government securities; N969.15 Billion in Domestic Ordinary Shares; N99.9 billion in Foreign Ordinary Shares.
Meanwhile, Retirement Savings Account (RSA) registration within the period stands at 9,795,957 million.
