OGUN UNVEILS DRAFT MASTER PLAN REPORT OF IJEBU-ODE/EPE/MOJODA


Ogun State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl. Olatunji Odunlami says the development master plan of Ijebu-Ode/Epe/Mojoda roads will bring about a robust economic cluster and developmental projection for the State.

Odunlami made this known during the presentation of the Draft Master Plan Report of Ijebu-Ode/Epe/Mojoda, at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Conference Hall, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta

The Commissioner noted that the State government decided to design a master plan for the development of the area and its environs, to avoid haphazard development and increase the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of the State.

 "Indeed, it is very imperative to come up with a very good master plan of the area and many others, in order to create more wealth and development for the State and improve on our IGR", Odunlami said.

In his remarks, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Adetunji Kanimodo said the master plan would add more value to the infrastructural amenities in the area, saying it would attract more investors, stakeholders, and others to partner with the State government on investment.

He said befitting road networks and the attractive infrastructural facilities would be beckoning investors to establish their businesses, saying the government is working hands in hand to achieve better investment and a friendly environment through the master plan of the area.

Contributing, Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo said locations like Ijebu, Remo, Atan-Agbara/Ota, Abeokuta, Magboro, and Imeko-Afon were listed to be the State government's economic cluster, noting that it was positioned to attract local and international investors.

Okubadejo pointed out that the master plan of the areas was to provide job opportunities for the teeming youths and guarantee food security, as well as security of lives and property, saying “all these locations will significantly boost productive output, achieve regional planning, stimulate economic growth and development that will lead to individual prosperity".

In his presentation, one of the Consultants, Tpl. Moses Ogunleye said the master plan would bring about a well-planned environment with facilities such as wastewater management, adequate electricity supply, good road networks and many more, saying it is a 12-year projection, which would be implemented in phases.

Ogunleye appreciated the State government for consulting professional guidance for the establishment of the economic cluster, saying the move would engender economic growth.
