OGUN GOVERNMENT AGENCIES WORK TOWARDS IMPROVED HEALTH OUTCOMES
As part of the outcome of the ongoing familiarisation meeting to Ministries, Departments and Agencies in Ogun State, the Special Adviser on Government Delivery and Head, Government Delivery Unit (GDU), Mr. Lekan Onamusi has assured, the Ministry of Health of an improved work process and better quality of outcomes in the health sector
Onamusi said this during the meeting at the Ministry of Health in Abeokuta stating that with proper management between the two Agencies, an impressive improvement could be recorded in due time.
According to Onamusi, the meeting was necessary to communicate the focus of GDU and seek an understanding with the Ministry to help identify problem areas and generally improve the performance of the health sector.
"GDU is about establishing a cordial working relationship with MDAs to prevent risk from becoming issues, ensuring improved work processes and deliver value for every resource committed to initiatives, plans, and projects", he said.
Speaking, Commissioner in the Ministry, Dr. Tomi Coker said with GDU’s input, work processes could be fine-tuned for more effective health administration in the State, adding that it was important to render better health services to the people.
In a related development, Commissioner for Education Science and Technology Professor Abayomi Arigbabu has promised the GDU team the necessary support it might need to add value to the Ministry.
Arigbabu made this known at a meeting with GDU, saying a better work process would bring about effective education management in the State.
He added that education remains a good parameter to determine the performance of any government, noting that if education is given priority, it shows that the present government is on the right track.
