WE'VE ELIMINATED FAVOURITISM IN APPOINTING PERMANENT SECRETARIES- ABIODUN

  The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun says his administration has eliminated all forms of favouritism and lobbying in the appointment of Permanent Secretaries in the State, just as he was decorated as the grand patron of the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries.

        

  Prince Dapo Abiodun who made this known in Abeokuta, during his investiture as the Grand Patron of the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries, said the model his administration adopted had helped in identifying top performing civil servants who deserves the position.

     


  Abiodun stated that prospective Permanent Secretaries in the State no longer need to lobby before they are appointed, noting that "those who will soon be confirmed as Permanent Secretaries already know themselves.

 "Since we assumed office, we've put different policies in place, to ensure that the Ogun State Civil Service is known for placing merit above anything else, to that extent, we have introduced different reforms to assure and guarantee that favouritism does not come to play in the appointment of Permanent Secretaries’’.

    Governor Abiodun, while noting that his administration would continue to prioritise the welfare of civil servants, saying that it would be creative in increasing the Internally Generated Revenue, to enable it meet all obligations such as deductions, contributory pension scheme and gratuity, among others.

        He pledged the government’s support to the Association, commending it for the proposed befitting Secretariat with a health care center for the elderly, wellness and fitness center, as well as, an old people's home.

   In his remark, the Chairman of the body, Otunba Babatunde Osokoya, applauded the Governor for the prompt payment of salaries and release of the quarterly N500M for payment of gratuities of pensioners in the State, commending him for formally kick-starting the mutual partnership with Lagos State for rapid development with the re-establishment of the Lagos-Ogun Joint Development Commission and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.
