Father Of 4 Defiles 6 Years Old Neighbors Child: Rights Activist Frowns At Mothers To Stop Perverting Justice On Rape Issues
Saddened by the growing number at which some women cover rape issues and opt for a family settlement and allow victims to go scot free after a mere beating is a source of concern to some Human rights activist who is calling for punitive actions to be taken on those who settle rape matters outside the Law.
A human rights activist Christian Amanya Narrates his encounter with such family:- This evening I was at my working place at Egbelu in Obio/Akpor LGA when a woman from Imo state came with her six year old female child that blood was still dripping from her private part.
The six year old girl informed her mother that is their neighbor, a married man who is a father of four children at PIPELINE street after JACK FILLING STATION at Egbelu touched her ‘bumbum’.
I immediately called our National Coordinator, Prince Wiro who asked me to give the mother of the six year old girl phone to speak with her. Surprisingly, the woman was not willing to go to Police Station to make a report as she said the CARETAKER of the compound and other neighbors has pleaded with her not to report to the Police.
That she only wanted to know where to take her to for free treatment.
However, the married man and father of four children accused of defiling the six year old child was given severe beaten by residents and neighbors in the presence of his wife and children at their compound at Pipeline Street.
In the meantime, we have directed the mother of the six year old girl to take her to ‘Doctors without Borders’ at Orugbum Health Centre at Ogbunabali axis.
Is sad that mothers are contributing to pervert justice by not taking actions on matters like this.
